Project Highlight: Data Lineage Discovery & Validation
April 2023 - June 203 
Phase: Discovery, Validation
  • Objectives: Validate product team hypotheses for the need, expectations, and potential use cases for data lineage in the new Galaxy product according to user type/persona
  • Methods: Moderated interviews with both internal and external participants
  • Result: Validation of product assumptions, clarified vision for product and feature, updated roadmap for development and iteration of product designs, product-specific behavioral profiles for potential customers
  • Impact: Increased understanding of serviceable available market, updated iterations of UX designs, additional value prop opportunities, deeper understanding of competitive standing, additional avenues for exploratory research into potential value prop

User Researcher - Mindbody
January 2021 - March 2023
  • Worked cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering to prioritize and conduct research according to team timelines and organizational roadmap planning
  • Managed quarterly research (from intake to execution and insight dissemination) for 4 product teams
  • Synthesized and communicated research findings to inform roadmap planning 
  • Benchmarked and analyzed NPS scores and comments for all Mindbody products
  • Conducted and analyzed longitudinal surveys to benchmark and track effect of COVID-19 on B2B customers
Project Highlight #1: Purchase Experience
October 2021 - Present 
Phase: Discovery, Validation
  • Objectives: Understand customer pain points, expectations, and current experiences using Mindbody's point of sale system
  • Methods: Moderated customer interviews, empathy workshop, design workshop, usability testing (3 rounds)
  • Result: Updated UX/UI, increased functionality
  • Impact: Increased customer satisfaction and ease of use of the point of sale system, decreased task time, reduced number of clicks to complete a task, increased intuitiveness of product overall
Project Highlight #2: Product Diversity Concept Discovery Research
April 2021 - Present 
Phase: Discovery, Validation
  • Objectives: Understand ways for addressing gaps in access, opportunity, and education for customers and consumers in marginalized communities
  • Methods: Moderated interviews with SME, customers, and consumers within the community (created a reproducible approach to be applied for various communities, i.e., BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled persons, mothers in wellness, etc.)
  • Result: "Take Action" proposal presented to executives with a list of potential product concepts to explore in upcoming roadmaps
  • Impact: 2 concepts currently set for GTM, increase customer and employee trust in Mindbody org

INTERNSHIPS
UX Research Intern - Roku
February 2020 - May 2020
June 2019 - September 2019

I worked on the Whole Home team at Roku where I led an ethnographic discovery study on music-listening behaviors in the home, conducted a heuristic evaluation and competitive analysis of Roku products and competitor products, executed a participatory design activity that including a cord sorting analysis, and provided support to other researchers.

UX Research Intern - IBM
September 2019 - December 2019

I worked on IBM's Hybrid Cloud, Data, and AI team where I assisted and worked collaboratively with designers, PMs, and other researchers to conduct research on leading queries using a variety of methods including heuristic evaluations, usability studies, SWOT analyses, etc.

UX Research Intern - Fandom
September 2018 - December 2018

During my internship at Fandom, I managed the creation of research materials (moderator guides, participant screeners, research plans, etc.), conducted remote usability studies, and moderated a participatory design workshop with users. Continued industry research during my graduate program where we sought to understand the impact of design changes on Fandom micro-communities.

BA Anthropology, Minor in African American Studies

2012 - 2017

Graduated in August of 2017 with a degree in Anthropology, with a concentration in social/cultural anthropology. Maintained a 3.4 GPA in my department studies and was featured in an article on the department's website. Academic focus: how people navigate through the social world and contemporary social tech culture.

Graduate project in partnership with Fandom (formerly known as Wikia) to research how online communities experience design change and mitigate such change to reaffirm and cement a sense of identity.
